Raising funds for citizen science water monitoring is very important: the program will need some funding in order to replenish supplies. For those with more resources, a dedicated volunteer coordinator has been shown to have a huge benefit to the community and the program!
Volunteers give their time and often contribute funds too, but to support a group for a regular test programme, you’ll need to apply for grants or funds from local councils, supermarkets, pubs, and businesses. If you can find a “funding coordinator” alongside the volunteer coordinator role, they will be able to research funding opportunities.
There are some examples of fund/grant requests for various sizes of groups and amounts of grant available here.
